Helping Our Furry Friends Affected by Harvey

As we’re sure most of you have heard, Hurricane Harvey is causing unprecedented and catastrophic flooding in southeastern Texas. With peak rain accumulations of 51.88 inches, Harvey is the wettest tropical cyclone on record in the contiguous United States. The resulting floods prompted more than 13,000 rescues, displaced more than 30,000 people, and inundated hundreds of thousands of homes. Not only are people in need of help, but the pets and other displaced animals local to the region are as well.

A portion of every Wet Dog sale is donated to local and national rescue organizations, and when we heard about the great work Best Friends was doing to help the animals affected by Harvey, we made it a priority to make an additional contribution to help them and their efforts.

For over 30 years, Best Friends Animal Society has been running the nation’s largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals and building effective programs that reduce the number of animals entering shelters. Right now their teams are on the ground saving dogs and cats from floodwaters and taking in those who have been displaced.
On the Best Friends Website is an area to donate any amount of money you can. They also have an Amazon wishlist where you can order an item they need and have it sent directly to them.
Please consider donating to Best Friends or any other animal rescue accepting donations – anything helps!
Here’s a few others we donate to regularly that do great work:
